ARRESTED!!!
Las Vegas business denizen Jack Ferm was advertising (some might say crowding the airwaves) with claims that he could save homes from foreclosure. He was arrested for theft on March 11, 2009. In real estate, you can't get something for nothing. At least not usually. Jack Ferm was handcuffed in court. Hooked and Booked.
In addition District Judge Kathleen Delaney fined him $500 for practicing law without a license. Thanks Judge!
According to the Nevada Attorney General, Mr. Ferm's firm, the U.S. Justice Foundation - took money from people and didn't do anything, or didn't do much, for them. The U.S. Justice Foundation ran ads which indicated that they could absolutely save your house from foreclosure. He was arrested for theft and related charges involving the foreclosure defense business.
Loan modifications are possible. In some cases a foreclosure can be stopped or slowed down. All perfectly legal. But be careful about anyone who speaks in absolutes when it comes to legal cases, the law and the courts. It's just not that easy.
